Like many Georgians who support the Second Amendment, I am disappointed when elected officials all but abandon their support for the Second Amendment. This past session an opportunity was missed to pass pro-Second Amendment legislation sponsored by State Senator Mitch Seabaugh, which would have allowed law abiding Georgians to expand the areas they can legally carry a concealed weapon. |
I will never rest until we ensure that we have protected the Second Amendment and made every effort to ensure our Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms. I remain unapologetic and offer unqualified support of the Second Amendment. I will always have an appetite to protect and defend the Second Amendment. |

I am of the opinion Georgia's firearms law concerning legal carry by GFL holders should mirror that of New Hampshire. Georgia ranks 17th in the nation in total firearms crime while New Hampshire ranks 47th. This clearly indicates to me New Hampshire knows more about the regulation of firearms carry than Georgia does. New Hampshire restricts firearms carry in courtrooms period. Unconcealed carry requires no license and this right is fully supported by the State Attorney General. A carry permit is only required for concealed carry and carry in a vehicle. I want to pointedly ask you John, "DO you and will you support reform of Georgia's Firearms Carry law to mirror completely the Firearms Carry law in New Hampshire?"
I cannot imagine the citizens of New Hampshire are smarter, saner, more law abiding, or somehow so different from the citizens of Georgia that the citizens of Georgia need more regulation of their firearms rights than do the citizens of New Hampshire. I think every State Legislator should have to face his constituents and explain why New Hampshire citizens deserve more Second Amendment freedom than they do. Here is your chance John to go public with your view and tell those of us who want to support you all the way. Will you support making Georgia firearms owners as free as those in New Hampshire?
