John Oxendine's view on the issues facing Georgia

Water

John Oxendine has promised to break ground on new water reservoirs to ensure an adequate water supply for our future.

In his Contract with Georgia, Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine has promised that if he is elected Governor, he will not take his eye off the future. He will help protect our state against future droughts.

While everyone is relieved to see our state’s water situation improving, these improvements seem to have given our state’s leaders a false sense of security and have allowed them to take their eye off the long-term needs of our state. John Oxendine wants to ensure that the dire conditions that once had us asking whether we would run out of water do not return. One of the state’s most important economic development and health issues – water availability – was not addressed adequately in previous sessions of the General Assembly.

Georgia’s politicians seemed more interested in calling the Corps of Engineers names instead of doing the hard work of solving this issue. What we need is plan, and a leader to carry it out. John Oxendine is that man.

Just like the wise man who built his house upon the rock to protect against the future storms, Georgia must have solid leadership that plans for future droughts before the water becomes scarce again. John promises that, if elected, he will stop the talk and begin digging reservoirs. As Governor, John will take on a federal Government—an impersonal far-away monstrosity that cares more about Florida mussels than our Georgia citizens.
