John Oxendine's view on the issues facing Georgia

Water

Break ground on new water reservoirs to ensure an adequate water supply for our future

The recent drought ended in 2009, yet the impact still remains fresh in the minds of many Georgians. While we may have received a temporary reprieve, the drought provided a clear message: we need to improve the overall management of our water supply in the State. A reliable water supply is not only an issue for all of us as residents; it is a key ingredient to job growth in Georgia as well.

We must have a multi-faceted approach to solving our water issues, including:

 - Breaking ground on reservoirs and expanding our current water system

 - Pursuing all legal options

 - Conserving our precious water resources
